I launched Active Music Publishing in 2010 because I wanted to return to the essence of music publishing: The songs, the composers, and the creators of the copyrights. Without a hit song, there is no artist, singer, or successful band.

 

Since anyone can make and upload music now, the question is: How do I stand out as a composer? Which song is a single? How do I find the right song for my film, advert, or other TV production?

 

That’s where my ±35 years of experience comes in: In this day and age, a good song isn’t enough; one needs a great song, and a community network to match.

 

I’ve worked with internationally acclaimed artists — the likes of Chaka Kahn, Wet Wet Wet, Locnville, and Flash Republic — as well as film and TV production companies from Warner Brothers to Universal Studios. I’m also a drummer and frontman myself, and have played in various amateur bands over the years.
